shayyla mom tell Amber about anthony BABY
In the quiet town of Windmere, where the sun dipped gently behind hills at dusk and the scent of blooming jasmine filled the air, Shayyla sat on the front porch with her best friend, Amber. The evening breeze was soft, and both girls were wrapped in cozy blankets, sipping hot chocolate topped with whipped cream.
“Hey, did I tell you about Anthony’s baby?” Shayyla asked, breaking the silence. Her voice was a mix of excitement and disbelief. Amber’s eyes widened, encouraging Shayyla to continue.
“No! You didn’t! What baby?” Amber responded, her interest piqued.
Shayyla paused, glancing down the street, as if checking for eavesdroppers. “So, you know Anthony, right? The guy who used to come to our school every summer to lead the basketball camps?” she started. “Well, he and his girlfriend, Mia, just had a baby.”
“Wait, Anthony? The one with the big smile and even bigger dreams?” Amber interjected, remembering the tall teen with a carefree spirit who always high-fived everyone after a match.
“Yeah, that one! His mom called my mom today. I overheard them talking while I was making some snacks.” Shayyla leaned forward, dropping her voice to a whisper as if sharing a top-secret revelation. “She said Mia had a little girl.”
“A girl? Wow, that’s so cute!” Amber exclaimed. She couldn’t help but imagine a tiny baby with Anthony’s infectious smile.
“And get this,” Shayyla continued, eyes sparkling, “they named her Lily. Isn’t that sweet? It’s like a flower, just like Mia’s name!”
Amber nodded while her mind raced with possibilities. “Is he happy? Like, how does he feel about being a dad?”
Shayyla shrugged, a thoughtful expression crossing her face. “I think he’s nervous but really excited. Apparently, he wants to be the best dad ever. My mom said that his mom is already knitting little sweaters and blankets for her!”
“That’s amazing! He’s going to be such a good dad,” Amber said, her heart swelling at the thought of Anthony, the carefree teenager, now stepping into a new chapter in life.
“And it just feels so surreal,” Shayyla said, leaning back against the porch’s railing. “We were just kids playing basketball together, and now he’s a dad! I can hardly believe it. I wonder if he'll even remember us when he visits.”
Amber giggled. “Of course, he will! You know we’re getting older, but he’s still the same person, just with a whole new responsibility. Besides, who wouldn’t remember their childhood friends?”
Just then, Amber’s phone pinged with a notification. She glanced at it, and her face lit up. “Look! Even at this very moment, Anthony just posted a picture of baby Lily!”
Shayyla leaned closer, both of them peering at the screen. The photo showed Anthony, his arms cradling a tiny bundle swathed in pink, a joyful grin stretching across his face. The caption read, “Welcome to the world, my little flower. Life just got infinitely better!”
Both girls cooed at the adorable sight, a mixture of nostalgia and excitement warming their hearts. “It’s crazy how life changes so quickly,” Shayyla said, taking a sip of her hot chocolate. “One day you’re playing games and asking for extra sprinkles on your ice cream, and the next, you’re taking care of a tiny human.”
“I know!” Amber agreed. “It makes me think about the future. What’s it going to be like for us? Are we going to have kids one day?”
Shayyla smiled, her mind racing with dreams of her own future. “Who knows? But for now, I can’t wait to visit Anthony and meet Lily. Maybe we can knit her some hats too, you know, start the ‘future aunties’ trend!”
Amber laughed, the sound bright and full of warmth as they chatted about bright possibilities and cherished memories. Underneath the whispering trees, the stars began to peek through the navy sky, and the two friends sat together, dreaming of tomorrows that were just beginning to unfold.
