Angelina is arranging a fake DNA test for Anthony with Shayla's assistance

Angelina and Shayla’s Plan to Trick Anthony with a Fake DNA Test"

For weeks, Angelina had been watching the people around her spin out of control. Secrets, lies, betrayals—it was all too much, even for her. But what frustrated her the most was Anthony. He was unpredictable, cold one moment, loving the next, and forever caught between the past and the present. He claimed he wanted the truth, but deep down, Angelina knew he couldn’t handle it. Not the real truth.

And so, she decided to give him something else.

A truth he could live with. A truth she and Shayla would create.

It started late one night, when Angelina showed up at Shayla’s apartment unannounced. Shayla opened the door, surprised to see her.

“Angelina? What are you doing here?”

“We need to talk. It’s about Anthony... and the DNA test.”

Shayla’s stomach tightened. She had been dreading the DNA results that Anthony was so determined to get for Kai. She knew there was a possibility—no, a certainty—that Kai wasn’t biologically Anthony’s son. But in Shayla’s heart, Anthony was Kai’s father in every way that mattered. She couldn't bear to watch him walk away from their son over a technicality.

So when Angelina proposed her idea, Shayla was hesitant but intrigued.

“You want to fake the DNA test?” Shayla asked, voice barely above a whisper.

“Yes,” Angelina replied without flinching. “I know a guy at the lab. He owes me a favor. We can make the results say whatever we want them to say. Anthony will never know the difference.”

Shayla’s mind spun. It was wrong—unquestionably wrong. But she thought of Kai, how he lit up every time Anthony came through the door, how he cried when Anthony left. Was the truth worth destroying that bond?

Shayla bit her lip. “What if we get caught?”

“We won’t. I’ll handle everything. All you have to do is play along when the results come back.”

There was a long pause. Then, slowly, Shayla nodded.

“I’ll do it... for Kai.”

The Setup

A week later, Angelina made the call. Her contact at the lab agreed to switch out the samples. Instead of processing the real DNA swabs, they would fabricate results showing Anthony as a 99.9% match to Kai.

Angelina delivered the swabs to the lab herself, careful to keep everything under wraps. Meanwhile, Shayla pretended to go through the motions of the official testing process, knowing full well the outcome was already decided.

When the results finally came in, Angelina made sure to be present when Anthony opened the envelope.

The Reveal

Anthony sat at his kitchen table, his hands shaking slightly as he broke the seal. Shayla sat across from him, forcing herself to remain calm. Angelina leaned against the counter, pretending to be disinterested but watching his every move.

Anthony unfolded the papers, scanning the page for the one number that mattered.

“Probability of Paternity: 99.9%.”

A wave of relief washed over his face. He exhaled a shaky breath and looked up at Shayla, tears forming in his eyes.

“I... I’m his father,” Anthony whispered, almost disbelieving. “After everything... I really am his dad.”

Shayla smiled, a tear rolling down her cheek—not out of joy, but from the crushing guilt in her chest.

Angelina clapped her hands together, forcing a grin. “See? I told you, Anthony. You just needed to trust what your heart already knew.”

Anthony stood and crossed the room, pulling Shayla into an unexpected hug. For a moment, she melted into the warmth of the man she once loved, pretending that this lie was kindness and not betrayal.

The Fallout Begins

But lies have a way of unraveling, no matter how tightly you try to bind them.

A few days later, Anthony’s lawyer called.

“Anthony, the court requested the lab’s chain of custody for the DNA test. Something’s not adding up. There are discrepancies with the sample logs.”

Panic surged through Anthony. He didn’t want to believe it, but a seed of doubt planted itself in his mind. He remembered how calm Angelina had been. How rehearsed Shayla seemed during the whole process.

Could they have... lied to him?

Anthony decided to quietly request an independent test—one they couldn’t manipulate.

And when those results came back, they told a very different story.

“Probability of Paternity: 0%.”

Anthony’s world shattered in an instant.

The Confrontation

He stormed into Shayla’s apartment, the original test results in one hand, the real ones in the other.

“You lied to me,” Anthony said, his voice like ice. “Both of you.”

Shayla tried to speak, but no words came.

“I loved that boy like my own,” Anthony continued, his voice cracking. “I still do. But you took my choice away. You let me live a lie.”

Angelina entered from the hallway, arms crossed, unapologetic. “We did what was best for Kai. You wouldn’t have stayed otherwise.”

“You don’t get to decide that for me,” Anthony snapped. “I would’ve stayed for Kai because I love him. Not because of some number on a piece of paper. But now? I don’t know what’s real anymore.”

The Aftermath

Anthony didn’t walk away from Kai completely—he couldn’t. But everything changed. Trust was shattered. Co-parenting became strained. Shayla lived with the guilt of her decision every day, watching Anthony interact with Kai through a wall of disappointment and betrayal.

As for Angelina, the fallout from her scheme slowly isolated her from the people she thought she was protecting.

In the end, the fake DNA test gave Anthony what they thought he needed.

But it took from him what he valued most: the truth
