OMG Shayla recive a bad news

She was at the local coffee shop, scrolling through her emails while Kai played with a toy truck at the corner table. Bills, daycare reminders, and grocery coupons filled her inbox. But it was a message from her friend Tasha that stopped her cold.

“Girl… tell me why I just saw Anthony out with Amber. Not even hiding it. They looked real close. Are you okay? 💔”

Shayla froze, reading the message again and again as if her eyes might be playing tricks on her. Amber? Amber? Her coworker. Her occasional friend. The woman who had hugged her when Anthony first left, who said things like, “Men are trash, you deserve better.”

Shayla’s stomach twisted. There had been rumors. Whispers. But she’d brushed them off, telling herself Amber wouldn’t do something like that. That Anthony, for all his flaws, wouldn’t stoop so low as to date someone from her circle.

But now? Now there was no denying it.

Fingers trembling, Shayla typed back:
“Are you sure it was them?”

Tasha’s reply was immediate.
“Positive. They were at The Grove, sharing a booth. He kissed her hand. It wasn’t platonic.”

The words hit like a punch to the chest.

For a moment, Shayla couldn’t breathe. Her heart pounded so loudly she could barely hear Kai’s laughter beside her. She looked at her son, innocence shining in his big brown eyes, and felt an ache so deep it was hard to contain.

How could Anthony move on so easily? And worse, how could he choose her?

Amber had been there through the breakup, pretending to be supportive. She knew how much Shayla still struggled, how many sleepless nights she spent wondering if she had failed their family, if Kai would grow up without a united home. And now she was dating the very man who had left them in pieces.

Her phone buzzed again. Another message from Tasha.
“You want me to confront them? Or let it go?”

Shayla took a deep breath. For a moment, she imagined storming down to The Grove, bursting through the door, and confronting them in front of everyone. She pictured the shocked looks on their faces, the silence that would follow her words.

But what would it change? Anthony had already made his choice. And Amber had shown her true colors.

Shayla wiped a tear from her cheek and typed back:
“No. Let them be. They’ll destroy themselves without my help.”

That night, after putting Kai to bed, Shayla sat alone in the quiet apartment. She scrolled through social media, half-hoping, half-dreading she’d see a photo of them together. Nothing yet. But the absence of proof didn’t ease her pain.

Memories of Anthony flooded her mind—the laughter, the arguments, the broken promises. She thought about how many times she’d given him the benefit of the doubt, how many second chances she’d offered. And in the end, he had betrayed her not only with another woman but with one of the few people Shayla had trusted.

Her phone buzzed. It was Anthony.

“Hey. Can we talk soon? About Kai.”

The audacity.

She stared at the message, her emotions swirling between anger, heartbreak, and exhaustion.

Finally, she typed a single word.

“Strictly about Kai.”

No pleasantries. No opening for small talk. No invitation for reconciliation.

She was done letting Anthony control her peace.

And as for Amber? Shayla would grieve the friendship they’d shared, but she wouldn’t give her the satisfaction of a fight.

Let them play house if they wanted. Shayla had more important things to focus on—like building a future where her happiness didn’t depend on anyone else’s choices.

Because in the end, the truth was simple:

They both lost her.

And that was the real tragedy
